and Coach USA buy into GreenRoad eco-driving scheme 24 April 2015

North American Coach USA and have announced a multi-million dollar investment in the GreenRoad eco-driving system to help reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, while also improving passenger comfort and cutting the risk of accidents.

Starting this month (April 2015), 3,200 and Coach USA drivers will start using the GreenRoad system, and Dale Moser, CEO of Coach USA, says he expects to see a 3% reduction in fuel consumption across its fleet of 2,400 buses.

This deal follows a pilot program in the UK in which the 3% improvement in was achieved throghout bus operations.

"Safety is always our number one priority and this programme will not only help to reduce the risk of accidents but will continue to provide a better, eco-friendly customer experience as well," states Moser, commenting on this significant technology investment.

The GreenRoad driver behaviour system uses a dashboard traffic lights- system to provide drivers with real-time feedback on their driving style, covering issues such as speed, braking, acceleration, lane-handling and turning.
