Mellor debuts two new buses at Euro Bus Expo31 October 2018

Bus manufacturer Mellor has unveiled two new vehicles at this week’s Euro Bus Expo (NEC, Birmingham; 30 October to 1 November).

The Strata Plus and Strata Ultra combine Mellor’s coach-built body and low frame conversion with the Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis and drivetrain.

Strata Plus (pictured) is already certified to LEB (Low Emission Bus) standards and Mellor anticipates achieving the same for the Strata Ultra early in 2019.

Both have extended wheelbases and body lengths, and will be offered on the new model 907 Mercedes Sprinter. The Strata Plus reaches 8.1m; the Ultra is 8.8m. They have accessible low floor single-step entry and are the same width as the original Strata model.

Strata Plus and Strata Ultra accommodate 26 and 30 passengers respectively.

John Randerson, Mellor’s managing director, said: “We are extremely proud that all Mellor low-floor buses have class-leading seated capacity. We believe passengers will have an enhanced experience and that travelling in comfort will lead to increased bus patronage and route viability.”

Features include destination signage, interactive next stop audio-visual displays, climatic control, wifi connectivity and USB charging points.

Choices of seats, interior trim levels and designs are available.
