Mercedes-Benz showcases CLOCS at CV Show 201514 April 2015

Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK is showcasing a novel 4x2 skip loader based on its Econic low-entry cab at thge CV Show (14—16 April 2015) – as first seen at the recent CLOCS Progress event, at London’s ExCel centre.

Other trucks on display on the company's main stand in Hall 5 include: a new Actros 2563LS GigaSpace in pearlescent white; a Unimog UGE340; an Antos 1824LS chassis cab; its Actros 2548 StreamSpace Fuel Challenger; and a Fuso Canter 3C13.

Externally, in the Mercedes-Benz exhibition area, the company has a further 25 vehicles, which include a selection of bodied units from across the range – including UK's first Euro 6 Atego Crew cab, built at Mercedes-Benz CTT.

Mercedes-Benz North, formerly Wentworth Park, is also demonstrating a custom, approved used, MP3 Actros 2546 6X2 on the main stand, as well as four more previously used trucks outside.

Beyond that, Mercedes stand theme is safer trucks, reminding visitors that in 1924 Daimler designed and manufactured the world's first vehicle with brakes on all wheels, and that in 1981 it was also the first to offer ABS on a truck.

Mercedes-Benz is reminding delegates that in November this year, General Safety Regulations will mandate that all new vehicles above 3.5 tonnes gvw must be equipped with a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS).

Also mandatory in the regulations will be an Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS) for trucks over 8 tonnes gvw.

Needless to say, Mercedes is on top of all that: talk to stand personnel about its Active Brake Assist 3, claimed to significantly outperform the 2015 General Safety Regulations.
