The order, consisting entirely of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, comprises of six Citan 111 LWB panel vans, a Citan 111 long crew van, and 13 Sprinter 314Cdi long high-roof vans. Each Citan has a gvw of 2.2 tonnes, while each Sprinter’s gvw is 3.5 tonnes. All the vans feature ply-lined load bays.

Merson is a built environment specialist and designs, manufactures, installs, and maintains signage, wayfinding, and facades for interiors and exteriors. Its customers include well-known and high street brands in banking, retail, and automotive, as well as all forms of transport and the education sector.

The new vans will carry two-man installation teams and their tools, working the length and breadth of the country (including Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland).

Following a period of growth by acquisition and subsequent consolidation, Merson is now focusing on growth via its increased capacity and capabilities.

Merson has partnered with Ryder since 2004, and the latest order means all of Merson’s 30-strong fleet is supplied by Ryder. Harry McCarroll, group procurement manager, says: "We work with Ryder because they’re a brand leader. We find their customer service and industry knowledge really helpful. If there are ever any issues, Ryder is swift to react and resolve."
