Michelin to showcase new tyres and safety systems23 April 2019

Michelin will be exhibiting its latest Agilis CrossClimate tyre as well as two wheel and tyre safety systems, when it takes up its position at the Commercial Vehicle Show later this month (NEC; 30 April to 2 May).

From a dedicated Michelin zone on the Road Haulage Association’s stand, the tyre maker will be showcasing the wheel and tyre safety systems, designed and made by official Michelin licensee Wheely-Safe.

Both systems are suitable for fitment to vehicles with any tyre brand policy. The system for trucks and trailers deploys what is said to be the world’s first in-motion driver alert system for detecting the onset of wheel loss before detachment on trucks and trailers. The wireless system also warns the driver of potential brake or hub issues, and provides alerts for over- or under-inflated tyres.

The Light Fleet version, for vans and smaller vehicles, gives visual and audible alerts of over- and under-inflation, fast leakage or increase in temperature.

Also on show will be the new Agilis CrossClimate (pictured), a dedicated summer van tyre which claims to offer full winter capability. It is also designed to provide high mileage, robustness, damage resistance and long-lasting performance.

Along with the new van tyre, Michelin will be exhibiting the latest additions to its X Multi truck tyre range, with the new X Multi HD drive tyre making its event debut in 315/80 R22.5 and 315/70 R22.5 sizes.
