Montracon set to debut three bodies at CV Show 23 February 2017

Semi-trailers and rigid bodies manufacturer Montracon will be celebrating 40 years in business at this year’s CV Show (25—27 April 2017, NEC, Birmingham).

Three vehicles – a rigid bodied curtainsider on a 26 tonne DAF chassis, a double deck reefer and a more versatile machinery/plant carrier – will be making their show debuts.

Additionally, a fourth vehicle, a 13.6-metre curtainsider trailer, is expected to add a splash of colour, being finished in the company’s special 40th anniversary livery.

The curtainsider rigid will be one of an order for 91 bodies, including boxvans and refrigerated, supplied to commercial vehicle finance and leasing specialist Asset Alliance.

Montracon says its 9-metre body is of all-bolted galvanised steel construction and built to meet the EN12642-XL load security standard.

Asset Alliance has since placed an order for a further 24 bodies, a mix of refrigerated and curtainsiders.

Meanwhile, the twin lifting deck reefer has been developed to accommodate more pallets than previous Montracon models, with the 44 split 18 on the upper deck, 18 on the lower and eight more over the swan neck.

This trailer will also be displayed fitted with the Axscend Trailermaster in addition to a reversing safety aid, together providing continuous monitoring of the trailer’s performance to help optimise utilisation.

Finally, Montracon says a lower profile neck coupled with pop-up pneumatic neck ramps has widened the load carrying versatility of its MT45 machinery and plant carrier.
