Moores Refrigeration Controlled Transport signs up MAN TGX duo03 March 2016

Suffolk-based Moores Refrigeration Controlled Transport has signed a deal with MAN Rental that puts two TGX 26.440 6x2 tractor units on the road for 18 months.

Both take the XLX sleeper cab and were specified with MAN’s 434bhp 12.4 litre, six-cylinder engine, delivering 2,300 Nm torque (at 930—1,400rpm), driving through the MAN’s 12 Speed TipMatic AMT (automated manual transmission).

Joint managing director Graham Moore says MRCT believes in looking around and keeping its options open – and hence the new vehicles, which join two other MAN trucks running out of its Devon depot.

“We will try the MAN TGXs on the 18-month contract and then evaluate them and their performance,” says Moore..

“They do appear to be good pieces of kit and I trust our staff in Devon,” he continues.

“They’re good and will give me an honest opinion on how the units have performed.”
