New DAF CFs score for HW Martin Waste27 March 2018

HW Martin Waste has taken delivery of three new DAF vehicles, one CF 460 FAT six-wheel drawbar and two CF 460 FAD eight-wheel hookloaders, part of the Martin Group’s plan to increase its fleet by 35% in the past year.

The operator’s bulk haulage operations use articulated, drawbar and hooklift vehicles, and all three of the new additions are Euro VI models.

Geoff Kearsley, operations manager of the group’s vehicle and plant maintenance division, says: “We have a very diverse fleet of over 300 vehicles, from vans to 44-tonne tractor units.

“It means we have run a wide range of marques over the years, but I don’t think we have ever had a more successful fleet introduction of a new vehicle in terms of reliability and driveability than these new CF DAFs with their Harsh hooklift equipment in all the years I have been here.”

As well as scoring highly on driver feedback, Kearsley says DAF vehicles deliver on fuel economy and reliability: “The latest Euro VI trucks are already even more economical than the Euro V models, and have settled in with very few teething problems.”
