New on-board telematics product to ‘shake up’ the market01 May 2014

Fleet management business eDrive Group has unveiled its latest product, which, it says, will turn the telematics market "on its head".

Its new telematics system sits on-board and is aimed directly at drivers, delivering driving data direct to the cab, as well as providing managers with condensed statistics and reports on overall fleet performance.

Mervyn O'Callaghan (pictured), eDrive's managing director, says the new product will "shake up" the on-board telematics market.

"Unlike other systems, each driver will have direct access to their own statistics and data via a personal online dashboard, so they can see exactly how well they are driving," he explains.

Describing the system as a low-cost alternative (though no price has yet been released), O'Callaghan adds: "We believe that MySafeDrive will turn the existing telematics market on its head, as it offers fleet managers the best of all worlds."

Previewed at the Commercial Vehicle Show (29 April to 1 May), MySafeDrive will be available later this year.
