New ownership for Weightlifter Bodies and PPG Fabrications05 August 2019

Tipper body and tipping trailer businesses Weightlifter Bodies and PPG Fabrications have been acquired by Grange Cross, following the announcement by Paul Weightman of his forthcoming retirement.

Grange Cross is owned by Nigel Butler (pictured), former commercial director at Renault Trucks UK, who says: “I am thrilled to be joining the Weightlifter and PPG teams.

“Paul Weightman, with his directors, has done a fantastic job to consistently be a leading and well-respected supplier of truck tipping products. The construction, agriculture and recycling markets are dynamic and growing, bringing lots of opportunites to develop Weightlifter and PPG.”

The two businesses employ 87 people at their manufacturing sites in Scunthorpe and Wisbech.

Weightman says of the acquisition: “I am very pleased to be able to secure the future for the business, the staff and customers... I am certain that, under Nigel, the business will continue to grow and develop, maintaining its market-leading position.”
