The Nottingham-based training provider delivers around 5,000 apprenticeships each year, including technical programmes for the automotive sector.
New apprentices within the Scania dealer network will work towards achieving the Heavy Vehicle Technician Standard Level 3, as well as a range of programmes for aftersales roles.
It is expected that 90 new apprentices could join the Heavy Vehicle Technician programme this summer, in addition to the 170 already working within the dealer group.
Martin Hay, managing director of Scania (Great Britain), says: “Apprenticeships represent a key investment for the future of Scania and the wider automotive industry. We are delighted to have been able to select Remit Group as our new training provider and look forward to welcoming the next generation of apprentices into our dealer network.”
Sue Pittock, Remit’s chief executive, adds: “We know that working together we can create a programme that develops high-calibre apprentices into the technicians of the future. These technicians will add significant value to the Scania network and help fill a widening skills gap in the industry.”
