New year, new waste industry body range for Thompsons 09 January 2013

Tippers bodybuilder Thompsons has started 2013 with a new range of demountable bodies, aimed at 6x4 and 8x4 trucks working in site clearance, scrap metal, waste and recycling.

Purpose-built for hookloader operations, the firm's new Wastemaster bodies are based on the existing Loadmaster tipper body, with V-shaped single piece sides, offering reduced weight, but also improved aerodynamics and easier cleaning.

Thompson's new body also does away with vertical ribs and horizontal cross members, and, according to the company, offers "maximum operational reliability along with next to zero upkeep and maintenance costs".

"Wastemaster fills the last big gap in our range of bodywork for rigid tippers," comments Thompsons director Simon Shields.

"Of particular importance, Wastemaster gives us a front-line product that's aimed right at the heart of the waste and recycling industries that need high cubic capacities for loads such as waste paper, wood and plastics," he continues.

In brief, there are three bodies models in the Wastemaster range.

For applications such as site work and the removal of rubble and hardcore, a standard height Loadmaster single-skin steel tipper body configured with a heavy-duty headboard and lifting bar, barn doors and rear rollers is the Wastemaster choice.

Then for high-volume and maximum capacity bulk loads more typical of the scrap metal, waste and recycling industries, there is a double-height version of Wastemaster – essentially a second Loadmaster body built on top of the first. This big cube design offers payload capacities up to 33m3.

Then the third is a flat platform version designed to transport plant and machinery – from mini-diggers and lawnmowers on light trucks to JCBs and diggers on maximum weight 8x4 chassis.
