The Gray & Adams trailers can carry 44 pallets each, feature Carrier-Transicold refrigeration units, and are deployed on more than 80% of NewCold’s outbound deliveries.
The business recently extended its Wakefield cold store with 87,500 pallet locations to reach a total storage capacity of over 143,000 pallets with frozen food produce.
It is experiencing strong growth and says that it expects the number of trailers from Ryder will more than double by the middle of 2018.
NewCold UK director Jon Miles emphasises the importance of Ryder to the business’s operations. He says: "Service is key to NewCold’s market position; we need to and are able to rely on Ryder and its customer service. Ryder’s flexibility helps NewCold to be flexible with its customers."
For example, Ryder’s account management team worked cloely with NewCold to provide a bespoke document processing service to meet the company’s reporting requirements. A dedicated service scheduler allocated to the NewCold account ensures all compliance obligations are met.
