NH Case grows Schmitz Cargobull refrigerated rigid fleet 09 March 2012

Nationwide frozen foods supplier NH Case has selected refrigerated bodies from Schmitz Cargobull for two new 15-tonne rigid trucks, set to carry out multi-drop deliveries in London's Low Emission Zone (LEZ).

The Wincanton-based company says it favours the build quality and longevity of Schmitz Cargobull rigid bodies, which have been mounted initially on MAN TGMs but are anticipated to be transferred to new chassis during the course of their lives.

"While Schmitz Cargobull is certainly more renowned for its trailer products in the UK, we continue to be impressed with the robustness of its truck bodywork," comments Tony Thick, transport manager, NH Case.

"Having tried several alternatives over the past few years, nothing has quite hit the mark like these in terms of quality, durability or upfront investment," he adds.

The two new trucks, which will take the NH Case fleet to a total of 15 refrigerated rigid trucks, both feature under-mounted Carrier Transicold Supra 850 fridge units.

Other key specifications include sliding internal curtains to retain temperature integrity in the load space – particularly crucial for multi-drop operations – load locks, additional lighting and under-slung tail-lifts.
