Nikki King to appear on tonight’s Question Time 14 November 2013

Former Isuzu Trucks UK chief executive Nikki King OBE is to appear on tonight's Question Time (10.35pm, Thursday 14 November 2013), being staged by the BBC at Portsmouth, where shipbuilding is about to end with the loss of almost a thousand jobs.

She joins a panel that also comprises: Energy Secretary Ed Davey; Shadow Business Minister for Labour Stella Creasy; Nigel Lawson, Conservative former Chancellor; and Paul Kenny, general secretary of the GMB union.

King recently became the first recipient of the Spirit of everywoman Award, in recognition of the contribution she has made to the commercial vehicle industry over 25 years.

She received that award, under the FTA everywoman in Transport and Logistics scheme, from Karen Gill MBE and Maxine Benson MBE, co-founders of everywoman.

King is famously reported as saying that the opposition and media would have been shot in wartime for talking down the UK economy. Expect some fireworks and common commercial sense under the watchful eye of David Dimbleby.
