NJ Docksey builds on fleet reliability with Jost axles18 December 2019

Staffordshire-based haulier NJ Docksey says Jost axle systems are key to its reputation for delivering a first-class service to the construction industry.

The operator is transporting building materials to major construction projects underway in London, some of which require just-in-time deliveries so “total reliability of delivery is vital”, says Nigel Docksey, founder and managing director.

NJ Docksey’s 40-strong fleet comprises tankers, curtainsiders and flatbed trucks, and more than half of these are fitted with Jost axles.

“Our vehicles have to be first class, well built and perfectly maintained, so that we can be sure they are available and ready to go whenever a delivery is needed,” says Docksey.

“The Jost axles are an important element in our overall strategy. They are easy for us to service and maintain in our workshop, lightweight so we can maximise our load carrying, and reliable out on the road.”

The haulier usually specifies the Jost DCA (Durable, Compact Axle) for its vehicles. These are mounted using a special hanger bracket that integrates into the chassis, ensuring ease of service by making changing brake discs and pads a straightforward job.

Docksey says his business is “known for meeting every challenge set before us”, adding: “To be able to maintain this level of customer service, we need vehicles designed and built so that they run efficiently and safely between services. As such, Jost axles – which last for the whole life of the vehicle – meet our needs precisely.”
