O’Donovan champions cyclist safety at Wembley30 May 2017

O’Donovan Waste Management focused on two wheels earlier this month, when it took part in the 2017 Tour Series cycling event at Wembley to promote HGV road safety.

Held on 16 May, the Exchanges Places event gave cyclists the opportunity to sit inside the truck cab and discuss driver blind spots around HGVs.

“The 2017 Tour Series, involving some of the sport’s biggest names, was the perfect opportunity to work closely with vulnerable road users and raise the topic of road safety,” said Jacqueline O’Donovan, managing director of the north London-based operator.

“We’re delighted to have worked with Brent Council on this initiative... Exchanging Places encourages cyclists and lorry drivers to better understand each other’s perspectives and work together to create safer roads in the community.”

O’Donovan Waste Disposal was one of the first operators to use the Mercedes-Benz Econic skiploaders in the UK.
