O’Donovan in driving seat with Exchanging Places events12 September 2017

O’Donovan Waste Disposal has reaffirmed its commitment to road safety, with its support for the Metropolitan Police’s Exchanging Places events in National Lorry Week (11-16 September).

The operator partners with the Met Police Traffic Command division, providing vehicles and personnel for the events which allow cyclists to sit in HGV cabs to better understand visibility issues.

“We feel that the Exchanging Places initiative is vital to strengthen interactions between lorry drivers and vulnerable road users,” says Jacqueline O’Donovan, managing director of the north London-based business.

“It is important for hauliers to collaborate with road users so that both have a joint understanding of the others’ experience and expectations. As an SME, we are extremely proud of the time and effort we put into this collaboration and feel that it promotes mutual learning that is beneficial to all involved.”
