O’Donovan Waste Disposal wins brake safe vehicles award 05 October 2015

London waste management specialist O’Donovan Waste Disposal has won the Safe Vehicles award at the Brake Fleet Safety Awards.

O’Donovan took the coveted prize in recognition of its ongoing efforts to keep its 85-strong fleet of HGVs safe on the capital’s roads.

Managing director Jacqueline O’Donovan makes the point that, under her direction, the firm has been specifying vehicle modifications, and adding new safety technology, as well as ensuring that comprehensive checking procedures are in place.

“To be pitted against giants such as Network Rail, Transport for London and SIG in this category, and to win is a massive accomplishment for us as an SME operator,” states O’Donovan.

“Protecting vulnerable road users is of utmost importance to our company, and to have our efforts recognised in this way is a great achievement,” she continues.

“I believe this award helps demonstrate our commitment to ensuring our operation is as safe as it possibly can be.”

Brake, the national road safety charity, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year (2015).

The awards, in Birmingham on 1 October 2015, saw fleet managers and suppliers gathered at a glittering industry event.
