Operator marks anniversary with shining example of MAN TGX22 December 2015

T Christie & Son Transport has taken delivery of a TopUsed MAN TGX 26.480, with special livery and a commemorative plate to mark 10 years in business.

Owner Tony Christie saw a truck in MAN’s centenary steel blue limited edition paint when he visited its Munich factory recently.

“It was absolutely stunning,” he recalls. “A few weeks later when I was signing the deal for the TopUsed MAN TGX with our salesman, Scott Munton, I said I really wanted the vehicle in that colour.”

Once the vehicle had been through the TopUsed refurbishment programme, MAN sourced the paint from Germany and gave the vehicle a makeover, including full chassis repaint in metallic grey.

MAN Truck & Bus UK also presented T Christie & Son with a special registration plate – T100 TGX.

T Christie & Son’s 11-strong fleet comprises one TGA, one 7.5-tonne TGL and nine TGXs. The new addition was funded through MAN Financial Services.

The operator’s vehicles are all named after Bruce Springsteen songs: the latest acquisition is called ‘Tougher than the rest’.

“I wanted it to stand out and it has many extras fitted, such as light bars and Alcoa wheels,” says Christie. “All of our drivers have their own vehicles and driver Ian McPherson was allocated this one.

“It has been on the road for a couple of weeks now and I don’t think a day has gone by without it being given a thorough wash.”
