Operator on right track with crane-mounted Renault Range C22 September 2014

L Lynch Plant Hire and Haulage is one of the UK's first plant hire businesses to offer a unique heavyweight lifting service, with its acquisition of a Renault Range C-520 6x4 80-tonne gvw, complete with a Fassi F660RA crane.

The specialist vehicle will be based in Lynch's London depot and will work on rail construction operations across the UK, including moving 60ft rail sections.

Supplied by Renault Trucks London, with the crane supplied by Fassi agent Transloader Services, the Range C is a bespoke addition to Lynch's 150-strong Renault, Volvo and DAF haulage fleet.

"When we tested the new Range C, we were particularly impressed by the new gearbox, the traction and grip," says Keith Talbot, Lynch's transport manager. "With the UK expanding its rail network, including HS2, Lynch wants to be one step ahead of the competition."

Transloader designed and constructed a bespoke sub frame, so that the 66-tonne/metre crane with flyjib could be fitted to a six-wheel tractor unit, and retain stability and payload.

Lynch is also ordering 80 more Renault trucks for its operation.
