Oxford Air Conditioning comfortable with Mercedes vans 12 November 2015

Abingdon-based air conditioning and refrigeration services specialist Oxford Air Conditioning has been buying Mercedes-Benz vans because, it says, the vehicles are cost efficient and the back-up is a breath of fresh air.

The firm purchased its first three Vito models from the city branch of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer Rygor, and now runs several vehicles from the mid-sized range, including its first New Vito.

The 116 BlueTec Long arrived shortly after its first Citan small vans – both are 111 CDI models with fuel-efficient 110bhp engines.

“We’ve tried other manufacturers’ vans but none were as well-built, reliable and durable as a Mercedes-Benz,” confirms managing director Darren Crawley.

“Our first Citans have been assigned to engineers who undertake pre-planned maintenance [and] are highly cost-effective to operate and ideally-sized for this type of work,” he continues.

“The Citan’s extra-long body means they can put their 1.8m ladders straight in the back and still have plenty of room for their tools.”

Back-up is provided by Rygor under Mercedes’ Complete Care contracts, which include all routine maintenance costs as well as major component replacement.

“We work our vehicles hard so have commissioned Rygor to carry out interim safety checks every 10,000 miles,” states Crawley.

“Rygor’s contract repair and maintenance support represents a stress-free solution that gives me the peace of mind that comes from knowing I’m sending my guys out each day in vehicles which are exceptionally safe and maintained to the highest standard by factory-trained technicians, fitting only Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts.”
