Pace Logistics rates ‘fantastic’ fuel returns with Renault14 December 2016

Manchester-based Pace Logistics has taken delivery of two 44-tonne Renault Range T tractors and has seven 18-tonne Range D250 high vehicles on order, which will have 28.5ft curtainsides and tail-lifts.

Supplied by JDS Trucks, the Range T460 6x2 tractors join 14 others on the fleet and the new additions have been specified with Optifleet, Renault’s fleet management solution, in a bid to drive down operating costs.

Phil Thurston, director of Pace Logistics, says: “We’ve been delighted with the Range Ts on our fleet and now they are bedded in we are seeing great fuel returns of just over 10 mpg, which is fantastic for our business.

“Also, by using Optifleet we are in control of our day-to-day operations through the web portal – we can monitor the vehicles and drivers in real time, and control all of our main expenditures.”

The Range Ts are on a three-year R&M contract and employed on general haulage operations across the UK, while the Range Ds are on a seven-year R&M contract, reflecting their lower mileage for Pallet Network deliveries.

Thurston adds: “We have enjoyed a long term and successful relationship with JDS for many years... and we’ve been delighted with both the sales and service we have received. It just works and we’ve had no reason to move to another company.”
