Paragon adds driver management to routing software10 May 2019

Paragon has added resource management functionality to its routing and scheduling software, helping fleet managers to produce transport plans more efficiently – and, in turn, helping to tackle the ongoing driver shortage.

Enhanced resource management will help fleets of all sizes, predicts Paragon, and the new functionality allows managers to track drivers’ holidays, shift patterns and hours worked, automatically factoring all of this in to transport plans.

As well as driver availability, the system can also accommodate individual driver preferences such as shift times, break times and overnight assignments.

Other features include the ability to manage holiday entitlement, automatic generation of advanced shift schedules, compliance with working time limits and tracking of individual driver hours to avoid overtime.

Planners can also add other skills to individual drivers, such as qualified gas fitter or carpenter, and the appropriate to ensure the appropriate vehicle and resource is allocated to each job.

“Our new resource management functionality allows fleet managers and planners to do more with less,” says William Salter, Paragon’s managing director.

“With resource management functionality, you gain peace of mind that you are achieving maximum efficiency from all your available assets, including drivers.”
