Payload and service mean Renaults for Robinson 15 April 2013

East Yorkshire-based Robinson Contract Services has bought six new Renault Premium Lander 430.32 8x4 bulk tippers to service a new contract for Yorkshire Water.

The vehicles are a mix of low-roof and high-roof sleeper cabs and were supplied through Renault Trucks dealer Thompson Commercials, Hull. They join a 12-strong, predominantly Renault fleet.

All the new Landers have been fitted with Weightlifter 32m3 plank-sided bulk tippers with air locking tail doors and Harsh K110 under floor tipping gear.

"We chose the Renault Lander mainly due to its excellent payload," comments Neil Fewlass, director at Robinson Contract Services.

"The Lander's chassis is strong but lightweight and gives the vehicle a payload capacity of 19.7 tonnes, which is extremely impressive for an eight-wheeler sleeper cab."

The company also cited the excellent service received from Thompson Commercials Hull as part of its reason for remaining loyal to Renault.

"The service and back up we receive is second to none and is another reason why we have turned to Renault once again," state Fewlass.

Robinson Contract Services provides recycling services for the Yorkshire Water region, which sees the new Renault Landers hauling more than 350,000 tonnes of biosolid products a year.

In addition, the vehicles also transport Robinson Contract Services' own quarry materials, such as lime and aggregates, as well as agricultural fertilisers.
