Peers fact finding leads to Millbrook and Optare electric bus15 June 2016

Members of the House of Lords EU internal market sub-committee visited Millbrook’s vehicle testing facility in Bedfordshire last week (9 June 2016) to see a demonstration of a driverless car and the organisation’s emissions testing facility.

Arriving in the new extended range electric Optare Solo bus – currently undergoing final trails – the peers met the Millbrook CEO Alex Burns, and toured Millbrook’s independent vehicle emissions testing laboratory and the test track.

The visit was part of an examination of an EU proposal to change the way vehicle emissions are tested, looking in particular at areas of EU legislation currently under scrutiny by the committee.
