MMH chief executive Daksh Gupta (pictured) says he’s delighted to be adding Mercedes trucks and vans to his portfolio, and is backing for the dealer’s plans to develop a larger, truck-focused dealership on Southampton’s Nursling Industrial Estate, as well as another dedicated, van sales and service centre.
The proposed truck dealership will include a seven-bay workshop with ATF lane for truck MOTs, and will offer services such as tachograph fitment and calibration, and steam cleaning.
MMH completed the £107m acquisition in May of Ridgeway, Pentagon’s former parent, and was already involved in servicing Mercedes trucks and vans following its purchase of SG Smith Group last year.
Gupta says: “As a business which is best known as a car and light commercial vehicle retailer, we are particularly excited to be extending our portfolio by adding sales of Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
“Like Mercedes-Benz Vans, it’s a great brand with brilliant products, which offer the combination of highly competitive whole life operating costs, all-important driver appeal and fast, efficient back-up that customers are looking for.”
