Petro-Canada Lubricants’ new API CK-4 and FA-4 (formerly PC-11A and PC-11B) standards-beating Duron ‘next generation’ oils will be available from 1 December 2016.

The company describes its latest introduction as the “most durable, high performance line of heavy-duty diesel engine oils”.

The product line will be available in four performance tiers: Duron HP (high performance); SHP (super high performance); UHP (ultra high performance); and Duron Advanced (API FA-4).

The latter is effectively Petro-Canada’s fully API FA-4 approved lubricant, designed, says the company. to “maximise fuel economy without sacrificing engine protection”.

“We had a clear vision to create the world’s toughest heavy-duty diesel engine oils and, with Duron next generation, we have delivered on that ambition,” states Howard McIntyre, vice president for lubricants at parent company Suncor.

“The product line has been built on our world class technology and with an approach that doesn’t compromise durability, strength and efficiency.”
