Pirelli Carrier tyre wins camper van challenge 23 March 2015

Pirelli’s Carrier tyre came first in a recent test conducted by Germany’s motor-home magazine, Promobil.

The Carrier Camper low rolling resistance tyre was compared to four other unnamed tyres and subjected to a series of challenges that included braking, road holding and handling.

The Pirelli Carrier tyre – a high-technology tyre developed for vans – was revealed by Pirelli last summer following three million kilometres of testing conducted with some of the leading European fleets.

Pirelli says it was designed for long tyre life and reduced fuel consumption as well as better wet grip performance, compared to previous-generation tyres.

The premium tyres giant also says it Carrier range transferred technology developed for ultra high performance tyres through to the commercial vehicle sector.

Carrier tyres also share a heritage with Pirelli's headlining products including the P Zero and Cinturato P7, but with increased emphasis on two key factors for the van market: safety and total life costs.
