The company signed the Apprenticeship Charter at its Carlisle facility on 1 October 2015, continuing a tradition of apprentices on the Pirelli scheme, which has been running for more than 40 years.
Pirelli’s current apprenticeship intake is focused on the quality and maintenance aspects of its business.
The quality apprenticeship develops people for management and supervisory positions, while the engineering apprenticeship is more hands on.
At the end of the apprenticeship, successful individuals gain a recognised qualification and a valuable skill set, with almost 100% staying with the company, according to Andrew Cross, Pirelli HR manager.
“Pirelli continues to be very committed to the vision of high quality apprenticeships as part of its investment into the future growth of the business, which is why we have decided to sign the Apprenticeship Charter,” comments Cross.
