Pulleyn Transport praises Haultech monitoring system 16 August 2012

Pulleyn Transport says it is pleased with telemetry system from HaulTech, which monitor, track and protect high-value, temperature-controlled loads.

The Reading. Berkshire-based company, which operates in the pharmaceutical logistics sector, says the monitoring is vital to ensure that the loads are not compromised.

Pulleyn, which has to control temperatures between 2°C and 8°C, relies on the TrakMan system, which provides real-time fleet performance information, including vehicle positioning, mapping, temperature monitoring, journey logging and automatic alerts.

In total, 47 of Pulleyn's trailers and rigids have now been fitted with TrakMan systems, which are remotely supervised from Pulleyn's traffic office.

TrakMan also monitors eight units in Pulleyn's pharmaceutical refrigeration storage facility.

"We rely on a system that gives us tight control and analysis during every minute of every journey," states managing director Ryan Pulleyn.

"We have 27 trailers with dual refrigerators, both of which talk to the system to determine the precise temperature of the load space and relay information to our office and mobile phones. This means that any deviation from the prescribed temperature will be instantly reported and acted upon."
