r2c Online launches live video streaming technology26 April 2019

Software provider r2c Online says technician productivity could be transformed with its live video streaming technology, which it will be launching at the forthcoming CV Show (NEC; 30 April to 2 May).

The new function will allow technicians to ‘request video stream’ while carrying out digital vehicle inspections on the Smart Inspect app or via r2c’s Smart Inspect headset technology.

Technicians will be able to instantly communicate via video with workshop managers or back office staff for advice or job sign-off, or directly with the customer to provide proof of damage or repair. Franchised dealers will also have the ability to connect with manufacturer head offices using the new feature.

Nick Walls, managing director at r2c Online, says: “This functionality will increase first-time fix rates, improve real-time visibility of work carried out and reduce maintenance disputes, ultimately leading to reduced vehicle downtime and a more efficient fleet supply chain. It also takes our in-platform communication features to the next level.”
