Reed Boardall in £3m trailer fleet upgrade with Asset Alliance16 August 2019

Fresh and frozen food distributor Reed Boardall has taken delivery of 12 double-deck refrigerated trailers, part of a £3m, 32-unit order, built by Gray & Adams and supplied by Asset Alliance Group.

Each 13.6m, tri-axle trailer is supplied on an operating lease contract, which means Reed Boardall will manage maintenance, servicing and tyre management, while Asset Alliance Group is providing finance for the seven-year contract.

The 32-unit order is part of a fleet upgrade by Reed Boardall, which operates a 300-strong trailer fleet.

“Asset Alliance Group takes away the headache of coordinating the financing of the fleet, plus the nature of an operating lease means we know precisely what each trailer will cost per month for the duration of the contract,” says Graeme Richardson, Reed Boardall’s transport division managing director.

“They are fully committed to supporting us and understand exactly what we need from a supplier.”
