Regulator bins licences of Porthmadog Skip Hire08 August 2017

The owners of Porthmadog Skip Hire have been banned from running heavy goods vehicles indefinitely, after they were found to have stored waste illegally.

At a public inquiry, the traffic commissioner for Wales Nick Jones revoked the two operating licences held by the firm, following the conviction of Joseph Gaffey, Patricia Gaffey and Michael Gaffey.

Jones said the circumstances leading to their convictions affected their repute as licence holders.

Joseph Gaffey and Patricia Gaffey were also disqualified indefinitely from working as transport managers.
