Renault hits the mark for road surfacing contractor03 October 2016

Road surfacing contractor Quality Marking Services (QMS) has taken delivery of three new Renault vehicles – two Range D16 chassis 4x2 R Sweeper 250 E6s with Johnston VT651 sweeper bodies, and a Range C430 6x2 with a bespoke body.

Supplied by Renault Truck Commercials of Exeter, the Newton Abbott-based operator’s Range D sweepers are right-hand drive with a roof-mounted loading hatch for preloading dry aggregates at ground level.

Two aggregate delivery valves at the rear deliver dry, clean, aggregates in a safe and controlled manner, while a weight display prevents overloading and measures the correct quantity of aggregates for each job.

The Range C, meanwhile, has a bespoke body designed for the application of HyperGrip, QMS’s own anti-skid surface treatment.

Positive performance from previous Renault vehicles meant the marque was “top of mind” when the operator needed new vehicles, according to Greg Clark, QMS managing director.

“We’ve been very pleased with the quality of the product and the service from the team at Renault Trucks Exeter. When we decided to increase the fleet with two bespoke road sweepers, the natural choice was Renault as well as Johnston’s high spec body,” he says.

“Our business is expanding and as we have had such positive experiences, Renault Trucks was top of mind when we were looking for new vehicles. The ‘sweeper’ pack that is included makes it very straightforward to build the body onto the back of the chassis so we could get the trucks out on the road and working as quickly and effortlessly as possible.”
