Renault Range T is best of breed for livestock haulier14 August 2014

Livestock haulage firm Chris Waite Transport has taken delivery of its first Renault Range T, a 520 6x2 rigid with sleeper cab.

Supplied by dealer Thompson Commercials, the new Renault Range T is an addition to the Driffied, East Yorkshire-based operator's 14-strong fleet, which includes Renault, Volvo and Scania vehicles.

Fuel efficiency has been impressive from the start, reports Chris Waite.

"The early fuel figures are very promising. We are getting, on average, approximately 9.8 mpg.

"Our driver is also very happy and has commented particularly about the stability of the vehicle."

The new truck is transporting livestock across the UK. Attached to the vehicle is a 'Platinum' livestock transporter, designed by Houghton-Parkhouse of Cumbria.

This three-deck, 25ft transporter has a patented, spring-loaded automated deck locking system, ventilation system, and space-optimised design to improve payload.
