The Master ZE will be available from September this year, with the 16-tonne D ZE and 26-tonne D Wide ZE models following in the second half of 2019.
The Master ZE, the first of the new releases, has the same load volume as its conventional diesel counterpart, thanks to the batteries being mounted under the front seats.
Six variants are available – four panel vans and two platform cabs – and standard features include reversing camera and radar system, and wide-view mirror. The battery can be recharged in six hours.
The 16-tonne Renault Trucks D ZE is designed for urban and temperature-controlled deliveries; the Renault Trucks D Wide ZE will come in a 26-tonne version for refuse collection operations.
The ZE has an operating range of up to 300km (190 miles). With rapid DC charging, the Renault D ZE and Renault D Wide ZE lithium-ion batteries can be fully charged in as little as one to two hours via the 150kW Combo CCS connector.
With overnight AC charging, a 300-kWh battery takes 12 hours to recharge.
Both the D ZE and D Wide ZE are equipped with a power take-off and a standard mechanical interface.
