Renault Trucks builds safety credentials at CLOCS with Range C23 March 2016

Renault Trucks UK is showcasing a 32-tonne Range C packed with safety features at the fifth Construction Logistics and Cyclist Safety (CLOCS) event today (23 March), at ExCeL London.

The Range C460 8x4 on display has a Night & Day cab and PPG insulated tipping body to Tarmac specification.

Safety features include nearside glass vision door, with additional lower window for improved visibility; a cycle monitoring system (cycle camera, side cycle sensor, turning left speaker and cyclist warning decals); and side guards to protect cyclists from being pulled under the wheels in the event of a collision.

The truck also has a Jimmy Beam Down Light system, providing a footprint of lights along the sides of the vehicle as a suggested ‘keep clear’ area for cyclists and pedestrians when the truck is stationary or travelling up to 15mph.

Ideal for both on and off road use, the Range C’s multi-axle chassis can be specified with front underrun protection and also off-road defined N3G.

Nigel Butler, Renault’s commercial director, says the CLOCS event is ideal for the business to demonstrate its “intelligent vehicle design” for improved road safety.
