Renault Trucks launches total cost of ownership drive 02 May 2014

Beyond debuting its new Euro 6 range of long haul, construction and distribution trucks and launching the new Renault Master van at the CV Show, Renault also announced a cut in TCO (total cost of ownership), with a two-year, unlimited mileage warranty across its Euro 6 range.

All new vehicles registered in the UK will carry the warranty, but orders placed by 30 June 2014 will also get Renault Trucks Simplicity package.

The latter provides either a free two-year service and inspection deal on Range D wide, Range C and Range K rigids, or a free two-year repair and maintenance contract on all new Range T tractor units.

"While previous warranty offers have been limited either by mileage or to driveline cover in year two, now Renault Trucks offers the total peace of mind that, no matter which Euro 6 model they choose or how many miles they cover, they are backed by our unconditional two-year manufacturer's warranty," states Nigel Butler, commercial director at Renault Trucks UK.

In other news Renault also introduced a three-tier Truckplus used vehicle offer and launched its Optifuel Challenge to find the most fuel efficient Renault truck driver in the UK and Ireland.

On Truckplus, operators can now choose between three categories – Selection, Quality or Value – according to budget.

Neil Willis, national sales and brand manager for Renault Trucks used vehicles operation, explains that Selection rated vehicles come with 12 months driveline warranty, have less than 480,000kms on the clock and are no older than 60 months.

For the Quality standard, operators can choose between six months driveline warranty or MBI, on trucks that are no older than 60 months and have less than 540,000kms on the clock. Value takes that down to three months MBI on vehicles up to 72 months old.

As for the Optifuel Challenge, national heats will begin this summer, with a UK final in September and the top two performers going forward to the European final in Lyon before the end of the year.

The Optifuel Challenge is a Europe-wide competition, designed to raise awareness of the best driving practices for the most fuel efficient and safe driving, as well as highlighting fuel saving technologies.
