Renault Trucks proves its worth for Scottish bakery 26 April 2016

Bayne’s the Family Bakers has taken delivery of two 3.5-tonne Renault Master Luton low loader P cabs, after reporting favourable results with 4.5-tonne Master Box vans in the past few months, and has already put in an order for two more.

The Fife-based business needed more vehicles to meet increased demand, as general manager Shirley Simson explains: “On average, we are opening one or two stores per year. We started to shop around for some replacement vehicles last year and the Renault Trucks 4.5-tonne van specs were exactly as we required.

“The body build was just right for our requirements and we were able to maximise our payload to 1.7 tonnes and our carrying capacity to 20 cubic metres.”

The service from Renault Trucks Scotland, she adds, was impressive so it was her first port of call.

“The 3.5-tonne Renault Master Luton Low Loaders, which are used on our Dundee deliveries, are a great addition to our fleet as they do not require tail-lifts, make loading and unloading easier, as well as maximising payload which is vital for our operation,” says Simson.

Driver feedback has also been positive, she says: “Our drivers have been raving about the new Renault Trucks’ vans... They’ve commented that the engine is very quiet, they are smooth running and really they’ve found nothing at all to complain about... In fact, I’ve been so happy that I have another two 3.5-tonne vehicles on order.”
