Renault Trucks reports growing Optifleet uptake 22 February 2016

No fewer than 40% of Renault Trucks’ heavy vehicle registrations last year (2015) included activation of the manufacturer’s Optifleet fleet management telematics.

Nigel Butler, commercial director for Renault Trucks UK, explains that the system was introduced with a 12 month free-of-charge subscription, including Optifleet Check and Optifleet Map.

The offer, he says, was taken up on nearly 1,000 Range T, Range C and Range K truck registrations, allowing operators to monitor and improve fuel consumption and driver behaviour.

“We are delighted to see so many of our customers taking our telematics solution to help with their day-to-day operations and reduce operating costs,” comments Butler.

“Renault Trucks’ focus is to be the customer’s cost champion and our decision to offer these two Optifleet modules free of charge again in 2016 demonstrates our commitment.”

Butler makes the point that, despite recent reductions in fuel prices, fuel is still most fleets’ biggest single expense.

“The great news is that a large proportion of our customers have made the choice to share fuel data with their Renault Trucks dealer who can proactively support them with further advice and training,” states Butler.
