Rented temperature-controlled vehicles are the convenient choice for Morrisons07 May 2014

Retailer Morrisons is meeting the distribution needs of its new M Local convenience store network and home delivery expansion with rented temperature-controlled vehicles from Burnt Tree Refrigerental.

Morrisons' head of engineering John Ward says Burnt Tree's launch of Refrigerental last year was ideal timing.

"We were aware of the good reputation of Burnt Tree, but we had never worked with them," he exlains.

"When they moved into refrigerated vehicle rental last year…it coincided with our need to source additional refrigerated vehicles."

The retailer has since been using a variety of vehicles from Refrigerental, including car derived vans, 3.5-tonne panel vans, 7.5-tonne and 18-tonne rigid box trucks.

The vehicles are being used to deliver products from large hub stores and distribution centres to the smaller M Local convenience outlets across the country.

All the refrigerated vans and trucks in Burnt Tree's Refrigerental fleet are new, from small vans up to 26-tonne rigids.
