Retailer cuts fleet tyre spend by 30% with move to ATS Euromaster07 April 2014

Retailer B&M is reporting a saving of almost a third on its commercial vehicle tyre spend just three months after awarding a deal to ATS Euromaster, which includes a new replacement tyre policy and dedicated on-site technicians.

The Liverpool-based company invited three tyre companies to submit a tender, before choosing ATS.

ATS carried out an audit of B&M's fleet, using its electronic inspection tool FleetSure. It collected data on tyre condition, enabling it to propose changes to boost performance and lifespan.

A new replacement policy now sees Michelin X MultiWay 3D tyres fitted to B&M's 160 Scania trucks. Taurus tyres, a brand sold exclusively by ATS Euromaster centres, are being fitted to its 265 trailers.

Two ATS technicians are on site each day to carry out routine maintenance such as regrooving, twinning, turning tyres on the rim and checking pressures.

"ATS Euromaster secured the business by impressing us from the outset, not only with its competitive pricing but with the high level of customer care it offered," says Peter Rewhorn, B&M's head of national transport.

"Having the two technicians on site each day is testament to this – it adds real value to our operation, and as a result, ATS Euromaster is already delivering a 30% reduction on our monthly tyre bills," he continues.

"They are achieving this while fitting Michelin Group tyres, too, so it shows the power of expert tyre management."

B&M also has access to ATS's 24/7 roadside response, should a vehicle suffer a tyre-related breakdown.
