RHA pressing ahead on cartel compensation scheme 09 February 2017

Investigations are continuing at the RHA (Road Haulage Association) into the impact on UK operators of the truck manufacturers’ cartel discovered last year (2016) by the European Commission.

The RHA says it is still committed to becoming the representative body appointed by the Competition Appeal Tribunal, and to lead the transport industry in recovering “sums that may be owed to operators” that that purchased trucks between 1997 and 2011.

A spokesperson says the RHA has been working with its legal team to find “the most appropriate funder” to ensure that “the action is risk” free for both the RHA and individual operators that sign up.

Key considerations are ensuring that damages paid out to members are “as high as possible” and that the chosen funder shares the same values as the RHA, says the spokesperson.

The RHA says it does not intend to profit from the action, and is urging operators to visit www.rhatruckcartelclaim.co.uk and register their interest in recovering compensation.

RHA says it is risk free to do so.
