Ringway upgrades fleet with 20 MAN TGMs23 December 2016

Highways maintenance operator Ringway has taken delivery of 20 MAN TGM trucks to meet winter demand on its contract with North Yorkshire County Council.

Supplied by dealer North Yorkshire Commercials, Ringway’s new additions are 12 TGM 18.250 4x2 BB, four MAN TGM 18.290 4x4 BB and four MAN TGM 26.340 6x4 BB, and join a range of MANs brought into the fleet last year to operate in England’s biggest county.

The vehicles have been fitted with a mixture of 9m3 and 6m3 dry and pre-wet spreaders by Econ Engineering. They have front and rear platforms, and smooth flow distributors with Spargo7 in-cab controls.

Safety features include full chassis side infill panels to comply with CLOCS standards, Bs-8000 reverse radar systems, reverse camera and white noise reverse alarms.

Phil Jepps, divisional manager for Ringway North Yorkshire division, says: “We have renewed 40 vehicles over the last two years and one of the benefits of going with MAN again is it increases drivers’ familiarity with the vehicles and allows for easier operation and maintenance of the fleet.

“Ringway fully appreciates the need to consistently deliver a high level of winter service and we are confident that with the new range of MAN TGMs we will be able to manage even the most challenging of routes in adverse conditions.”
