The new fleet comprises three 7.5-tonne and three 13-tonne Isuzu rigid chassis fitted with Carrier Transicold Xarios 600 units and mounted to Gray & Adams bodies, alongside six 18-tonne DAF LFs and six 26-tonne IVECO Stralis rigids, all with Carrier’s Supra 1150 MT (multi-temperature) systems and Paneltex refrigerated bodies.
Paul Evans, national rental manager at Riverside Truck Rental, says: “The refrigerated rental segment is uncharted territory for us, so we wanted to ensure we were offering our new customer base the very best, and the range of equipment Carrier can offer made them the obvious choice.”
Operating out of six depots across the UK, the new rental vehicles will be available for hire nationwide, and each vehicle is backed with a Carrier Transicold’s everCOLD maintenance contract.
Evans adds that Carrier’s service partner network was “a major factor” in the decision: “As these are rental vehicles, they can conceivably end up operating anywhere, so having access to the largest national service network of any transport refrigeration equipment provider gives us the confidence we can deliver the best possible service to our customers.”
