Road-legal electric truck takes pole position in UK market02 July 2014

A road-legal electric truck, which comes with a range of body options and a 35-mile range, is now available in the UK.

The Flex L3 is manufactured by French company Ligier, which made its name in Formula 1 car design.

The utility truck is suitable for city centre deliveries or use on estates management. Standard features on the Flex L3 include electric windows and central locking.

Bodies available include flat bed, cage, box body or tipper, offering a payload of up to 400kg or 2.3m³ volume of carrying capacity. The cab is available in red, white or grey.

Powered by lead gel batteries, the vehicle has a 25mph top speed and a 35-mile range between charges.

The two-seater truck is fully road legal and qualifies for a zero-cost road fund licence. An on-board charger enables opportunity charging; a full recharge takes 8-10 hours.

The vehicle is available from Ligier's UK distributor ePower Trucks, and costs from £13,500.
