Road safety tops the agenda at Tip-Ex26 May 2015

Road safety will top the agenda at Tip-Ex this week, with delegates able to hear more about the CLOCS initiative and a new road safety campaign for children at a seminar on Thursday 28 May at 1pm.

The CLOCS – Construction Logistics and Cyclist Safety -- seminar will give operators from across the country the opportunity to learn more about the standard and how they can ensure they take every step to improve road safety across their operations.

Launched in London two years ago, CLOCS is gaining momentum and now has 130 accredited operators across the country. The seminar will include presentations on setting a common industry standard for managing road safety, managing a cultural shift within an organisation, and improving safety and reducing risk through design and technology.

The event will also see the launch of a new educational road safety initiative, developed by Scania and Road Safety GB.

The initiative aims to teach young children, aged 10-11, about commercial vehicle blind spots and rear-wheel 'cut in' when turning corners. As part of the process, a full lesson plan has been developed and learning will be monitored over the short and long term.
