Roanza apprentice is first female Mercedes CV breakdown technician24 August 2018

A 19-year-old from Liverpool has become the first female Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle breakdown technician.

Fallon Hignett (pictured) joined Roanza Truck & Van – the Mercedes dealer for the North West – three years ago from school, joining the manufacturer’s apprenticeship programme.

Ahead of her apprenticeship ending in October, Hignett has already achieved the Service24h qualification to become a mobile breakdown technician and will now go to the assistance of Mercedes-Benz vans operators who benefit from the MobiloVan service.

“We are very proud of Fallon, and delighted that she has achieved this important career milestone,” says Nigel Lewin, aftersales manager at Roanza Group.

“Her achievement proves that the commercial vehicle industry is no longer the bastion of male domination it might once have been – dedication, hard work and a ‘can do’ attitude are the key attributes for success, and she has all three in abundance.”
