Rotala buses roll on Michelin solutions’ Effityres 25 October 2016

Bus operator Rotala is now working with Michelin solutions’ Effitires tyre management programme under a five-year pence-per-mile deal with covering its 650 single- and double-decker buses.

The contract covers Rotala’s five subsidiary bus operations: Diamond Bus, Diamond Bus North West, Hallmark Connections, Preston Bus and Wessex Bus, as well as several smaller firms and local transport companies.

“Rotala has expanded rapidly, acquiring fleets and operations around the country,” comments Rotala chief executive Simon Dunn.

“As such, we’ve also acquired a number of different tyre policies and supply networks,” he says.

“This situation became something of a headache, and we quickly realised that Rotala needed one, unified, efficient programme to handle our tyre management requirements – and Michelin Effitires fits the bill.”

Michelin solutions’ support personnel, auditors and technicians will now help ensure that tyres fitted to Rotala’s subsidiary fleets are serviced to its standards.

“The support of Michelin solutions’ embedded account team is invaluable, as are the regular, in-depth reports the programme generates,” continues Dunn.

“Overall, Effitires provides peace of mind, and allows us to focus on our core business – getting passengers safely and comfortably from A to B.”
